We publish what we can source. Every figure on these pages carries a named organisation and a year, linked to the primary document, so a superintendent or a district CFO can check our work before they cite it. Where the evidence is thin or contested, we say so.
Editorial standards
Upward Communities Research is published by Upward Communities, a developer of Class A workforce housing for public sector employees. We have a commercial interest in this subject, and we would rather state that plainly than have a reader discover it later.
Every statistic we publish names its source organisation and the year, in the visible text of the page rather than in a footnote, and links to the primary document wherever one is public. We prefer primary sources: district board minutes, bond documents, agency data, and published research over news aggregation. When we cannot verify a figure, we cut it rather than soften it. When a district has not published outcome data, we say that instead of implying results.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with any organisation whose research we cite. Where we use another organisation's published methodology, we name it and link to it.
Corrections matter more than being right the first time. If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it, note the change, and update the page's last-updated date.
